What having 2 under 2 REALLY looks like
Ohhhh boy!! People always ask me “What’s it like having two babies so close together?” I usually just laugh and give the same generic answer…”They are seriously SO much fun!! We are super busy but they are totally worth it”. Which is 100% accurate!!! But, it is so much more than that. If I took the time to write out our whole day you would get so bored and it would probably be 10 pages long 😂 SO, in a few short sentences, this is what a day in the life of 2 under 2 looks like:
6:30 Wake up. Baby’s screaming. Change diaper. Nurse her. Tummy time. Big brother’s up. Change diaper. Dr. Pepper. Dad’s off to work. Breakfast. MELTDOWN (I swear he liked apples yesterday). Okay, bananas, all better! Sister is crying. Nurse her. Nap time. Finally! I can get stuff done. Clean up toys. Kingston follows behind and pulls out toys. Time to learn our colors! Bluuuuue. Every color is blue!! Dishes. Oh no. We can’t play in the dishwasher Kingston. Preslie’s up. Diaper change.
10:30 We go outside. Kingston kicks the soccer ball around. Preslie smiles and watches us play in the yard. Lunch time. MELTDOWN!! NOT CHICKEN! He doesn’t like chicken today, okay. Mac N cheese it is! Oh boy. Applesauce. Applesauce everywhere. Blocks. MELTDOWN. The blocks don’t stack like that honey. Book. Nap time. NOW I can get stuff done. Vacuum. Dust. Fold some laundry. They’re up. Diaper change. Nurse Preslie. Kingston throws folded clothes everywhere. Okay, we can fold them later. Dr. Pepper. Time to put our coat on. MELTDOWN. His coat sleeves ate his hands. Preslie is crying.
2:00-4:00 Park time. Snack. Play. Fun!
4:00 Both kids are screaming. Diaper change. Nurse Preslie. She naps. Legos with Kingston. Dinner. MELTDOWN. He hates orange juice now too. Preslie wakes up. Get both kids calmed down.
6:30 Hubby walks in and looks around…”Sooo what did you do today?” 😐
Having two babies 14 months apart is CRAZY! It really is. But, between all of the meltdowns and trying to figure out our emotions, there are about a thousand kisses and a million laughs. My son is seriously so hilarious and my daughter is the sweetest little girl. I wouldn’t trade these crazy, chaotic ,fun, hilarious days for anything!!
