Lake Eibsee and Zugspitze

Lake Eibsee in all of it’s glory. My gosh. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something so beautiful.  THIS. This was the thing I was the most excited for. The mountains. The clear blue water. The crisp air. We weren’t brave enough to fully submerge ourselves but the kids put their legs in. You can take little boat rides or rent out paddle boats and there’s a path that you can walk or jog the border of the lake.

There’s a cable car  right up the hill from the lake that you can take straight up to Zugspitze and it only takes 8 minutes.  But, they told us the kids might have a hard time with their ears popping going up that fast.  So we took a train that takes you literally through the mountain and up to the top.  It was a 45 minute ride but it was incredible.  The train even stopped at the most amazing spot overlooking the entire lake so we could get pictures and just soak it in.  Zugspitze is the highest peak in Germany so it’s pretty cool to say we got to eat lunch and drink a few beers on top of the country.

I can’t even imagine how amazing this place is in the winter.  And, like I’ve said every other time, I hope we can come back some time.  I feel like this is gonna become a habit of mine though haha. Every time we go somewhere I’m gonna probably say it’s my favorite and we have to go back.  There is so much beauty surrounding us and I cannot wait to explore it ❤
